I’m here to share my awful experience at AVEDA. I went in with pretty blonde hair already and all I asked of them was for a partial highlight just to brighten up my hair, and they said it would be no problem and that I would be blonder like I asked. My appointment was for 1 and I didn’t leave the place until 5:30. When I left I got into the car and bawled my eyes out because of how horrific my hair looked and that it was DARKER than when I came in, FRIED, and splotchy with 2 random brown streaks that I never asked for and was never consulted about, that I later found out was put in my hair to cover up bleach bleeds. Once they figured out my hair was messed up, they tried to fix it without telling me anything at all. They took me back to the bowl, for the second time, and the first time I went there I was ALREADY toned with a buttery beige blonde, and when they took me back for the second time I was toned AGAIN with ASH by an educator who wasn’t working on my hair in the first place and that didn’t even know whether I had a full or partial done( she said that out loud), and after she did that she went in trying to cover bleach bleeds that I only knew were there because some other student watching asked “is that to cover the bleeds”, and the lady working on my hair said “ shhh! your not supposed to say that out loud”( I was dumbfounded by how unprofessional her words were). Now I have to go visit another salon and pay close to 200 dollars to restore my hair.( this is a week before prom) Trust me it’s really not worth it, they also won’t return any of my phone calls and we still had to pay for a partial even though they destroyed my hair. I know these are students, but my request wasn’t all that crazy and expected a little more communication and professionalism coming from everyone including the educators.

Claire did a beautiful job with my daughter's haircut and highlights! I sent one of my customer's, who had curly hair, to Claire for a trim. Claire is truly talented as my customer sent me the "after" pics. Beautiful, just beautiful! Claire is so talented when working with different hair types. She is very skilled and knowledgeable when creating each of her customer's requested look! For someone so young, she is beyond her years while practicing her craft. After she graduates, my daughter and I will follow her wherever she lands!

Cosmetology / Teacher Training

Cosmetology

Program Length 1,500 hours
Average Completion 13 months
Program Tuition $19,000

Express your creativity and talent! Our Cosmetology program and master student phase incorporate theory with extensive hands on experience to provide you with a complete understanding of beauty and wellness. The Cosmetology course includes hair cutting, color, texture services, nail care, makeup application, business development, retail knowledge and the concept of gaining and retaining clients.

Upon completion, students move on to the master student phase for intensive real-world training to hone their skills.

Esthetics

Program Length 750 hours
Average Completion 7 months
Program Tuition $11,250

The AVEDA Institute's innovative Esthiology program offers students the opportunity to learn specialized techniques to balance and renew the skin, body and elemental nature. Hands-on clinical experience includes facials, waxing, makeup application, business development, wellness and retail knowledge. Upon graduation, participants will be prepared to take the state licensing examination, opening the door to a future as an esthetician.
